I am thankful for productive weekends

I am a busy woman but in the past month things have gotten crazy. I am amazed at how insane my life has felt lately and things had to start being put off for another time. Well, I am the type of person that when I see things start to build up on my to do list and don't see them getting marked off I go into meltdown mode. This weekend helped a lot. I decided that no matter what I was going to get some stuff off my list and I did just that. With the help of my Handy Dandy Michael!

Ok, I did not get anything done on friday but purchase some stuff for my current craft/gift projects and I took the rest of the day to relax with the love of my life and 3 crazy kids. Saturday was a different story. I woke up and did some laundry and then headed over to a friends house to spend the entire day (did not know it would take that long) making Princess's Christmas present from me. It is a rag doll that is supposed to look like a lalaloppsy doll. It was a fun day and I hope that she loves it. I then went grocery shopping and came home to get started on the rest of my saturday list. Mike and I canned 5 quarts of chili and 2 quarts of beans, organized our pantry and pulled everything for the next days canning out and got it ready. On sunday I took advantage of the extra hour and woke up early and canned 15 pints of chicken and 1 pt of black beans. I also (with mike's help) hung up our Family Home Evening board I had made and our new Menu Board. I also put up our Tree of Thanksgiving and got the kids caught up on each leaf of the month so far (we were 6 days behind) and had a good FHE Lesson with them on giving thanks. We went to church and then came home and had a wonderful dinner with some friends and I got caught up on a month of coupons that needed to be clipped.

I feel much better knowing these things are done and that I can focus on the rest of my list. The days of thanksgiving are really helping me focus on what is most important and on that note I would like to share the scripture from our FHE yesterday.

Doctrine and Covenants 136 verse 28
If thou art merry praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.
