We had our annual family temple day in Memphis this weekend. It was so great to actually get to take the kids to see the temple and then have someone to watch them while mike and I went in. For any one that doesn't remember I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we have Churches that we visit weekly and we have very sacred and holy temples that we visit. (For more information on either the church or the temples click on the links) The closest one for us is Memphis, TN. Princess has been looking forward to it for a month and the boys were excited too.
We stopped off before we got there to partake in some traditional Memphis dry rub BBQ. We stopped off at the much praised Rendezvous. The atmosphere was great, the service was great and the alley entrance was great. The food, however, was not. For those of you that like vinegar in your coleslaw and as the marinade for the meat you might like it but we did not. It was OK and I am glad we tried it but we will not be back. Next time I am in Memphis (my Birthday!) we will be eating at the melting pot. Our best friends Ed and Aria have nothing but great things to say about the place and we love some fondue, so we are very excited.
Overall, we just had a wonderful family weekend. We are continuing it by having a mardi gras party for Family Home Evening. We are eating red beans and rice, corn bread, kings cake and watching the princess and the frog after Mike gives a long winded, I mean great explanation about why that tradition was started and what it really represents for other faiths. We will not teach the kids how they get beads in the big easy!!!!
Have a great week!

Sounds like fun! We haven't been to the temple in over a year! I love how festive you guys always are!
I love it! It's fat tuesday and I have to work tonight ... I haven't decided what I will be giving up for Lent yet ... God hasn't laid it on my heart yet. But, I'm sure he will. :)
