Blocked

OK, so all state computers are now banned from using or accessing blogger so I am posting this blog via my husband since we have no internet at home yet. I will be unable to check on all of your blogs for awhile so I am sorry. I will probably get on about once a week.

Attention all girls in my son’s first grade class: KEEP AWAY FROM MY SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s right, I said it, now listen to my little tale.

Last night after soccer practice Beau and I were sitting in a drive thru (still no stove) waiting to order our dinner when I start our little game. This game is something that I started when Beau started preschool and even our foster kids pick up on it and enjoy it. I start by asking how school was and I make sure that tv, radio everything is off or paused. Then I give each kid my attention. I ask for details and love to hear what they have to say. They then do the same for me asking me how work was. It is a highlight of my evenings. Well anyways, I ask how Beau’s day of school was and he tells me that his girlfriend broke up with him so that they could then get together again in computer lab and she could kiss him. For anyone that knows me you can only imagine how hard it was for me to not over react. My son is only 6!!!!! I thought I had a few more years to wait before going over the Rules. Aren’t girls supposed to be yucky! OK I have to calm down I am starting to have a stroke. OK, I waited a few seconds and asked for him to repeat himself. I then asked where she kissed him at. He said, I told you in the computer lab and I said no where on your face and he pointed to his cheek. Whew, at least it wasn’t so bad. I then asked if they held hands and he said yes and they spend a lot of time together at recess and center time. I asked if she like him and he said yes, I then asked if there were any other girls to which he said that there were 2 others but they were not going out yet. As I am gripping the steering wheel and playing 20 questions I feel myself wondering what happened, what have I done in my life to deserve this, how can I rip the lips off of my son and put them in storage until his wedding day? I send a quick text to mike while he was in cub scouts so that I was not the only parent in shock. I got our chicken and left before I said something that might offend his new found love. I am still pondering how to handle this situation and Mike just thinks that it is funny. So, I guess I should start working on that talk soon.

So........ We baught a house!

Thats right. We got it!!!!!!!! We just went and signed 40 bazillon sheets of paper that say that we are going to be indentured slaves for the next 30 years! I am so excited!

Mike gets off work early today so he is going over to finish the cleaning and get it ready fr moving day tomorrow. Soon we will be sleeping in our own beds, sitting in our own house, and cooking in our own kitchen. I am happy.

Just a funny side note. I told Beau yesterday that mom and dad were going to go and buy the house and that we were going to sign all the paper work. He then asked how much it was going to be. I did not want to tell the real amount so he could then tell everyone at school and such so I told him it was going to be 14,000 (I wish). He got this look that I call shocked Beefy and he then said thats a lot of money mom. I agreed with him and then he asked if I would be able to come up with 14k by friday and if I couldn't that he would let me have his money in his incredibles bank. Now to all of you that know my Beau, he is very similaur to Mr Crabs from spongebob. He can smell a lost coin located under 15 feet of dirt and then dig it out and be excited about the penny. This boy loves money. A lot. He told me one day that the reason he likes to get money and save it is so that he can help out me and his dad if we ever need it. For food or wii stuff. It always tears me up when he tries to give me money for helping him clean the room or doing dishes. To him that is a sarafice to give out money. He is such my little eugene crabs.

What Desiree Means
You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.
People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

Dry Socket!!!!!

So after a week of painting and working on the new house (thanks daddy for all your hard work) I got to treat myself to having two wisdom teeth removed. It was such a great reward for all of my hard work, nice relaxing times. Now that the meds of wore off I will tell the truth. What in the wold was I thinking to get my wisdom teeth pulled in the middle of buying and moving into a new house!!!! Why did no one stop me!!!! It hurts so bad. I looked like a bulldog for the first day and then the swelling went down. and it was just sore until the dry soket kicked in and now it just hurts again.

First things first. They did not knock me out for the surgery, I was awake for the whole thing. I could hear the roots of the teeth squeaking as he wiggled it back and forth. In my head I was thinking that maybe just maybe at one time this guy was a russian torture specialist. Once I got out of the office and went home and took some great meds I was out until the next day. Don't get me wrong I did not sleep the whole time I just was so medicated that I don't quite remember what happened the rest of the day.

Saturday was a little better less meds and less pain. I stayed around the house and hung out with my family. I was still sore so I did not feel like doing much and I ate mainly soft foods. Mike got to spend his saturday ripping up old carpet at the new house. My parents took all the grandkids out to a movie and to have fun too so it was quiet for awhile. So I slept.

Sunday was much better for a big part of the day. Mike, my dad and myself went over to the new house to do some little things like painting trim, installing the garbage disposal and locks and stuff like that and toward the end of the day I felt like crap. My jaw was starting to really hurt and my cold was in full force. We went home and I medicated my self so that I was not the worst person in the world to be around and it all worked out.

By the time I woke up this morning I new something was not right. I could barely move my mouth because it hurt so bad. The good thing was that I could breath through my nose again. The pain got really bad so I went back to the dentist and he said that I was the proud owner of a dry socket. I asked him how I got one when I followed all of the rulles and he asked if I had blown my nose, sneezed or coughed after they were pulled and I told him that I had come down with a cold right before the teeth were pulled and that I had been doing all those things all weekend and he told me that was the problem. So he packed my hole in the gum with a brown paste that smelled and tasted like a dead fish covered in cloves. thats right I got to have that taste all day long but you know what it helped with the pain so it is all good with me. He does not seem to think I will be up to working tomorrow but I really love my job so I will try really hard to go in. Erin and Amy might have to twirl me around in the office chair after my I take some meds and that would be really fun.

So that is my story of this weekend. I am still a little medicated so it might sound a bit odd but I decided to fill everyone in before I went to take my next dose (it still hurts pretty bad) of funny pills. Have a great week everyone and remember keep your sockets wet or you'll be sorry!

From the body of a crazy woman

Dear reader:
Usually you get to hear from the mind of Desiree but today you will get to hear from the rest of her. We are tired and sore. Desiree broke all union rules this weekend making us work on painting a house for 12 hours on saturday and for 8 hours on sunday. Not only did she not pay us overtime but she is refusing to give us a break. She mummbled something about deadlines and needing to push through it but to be honest we are thinking of going on strike. We are already making our protests known by being huge pains not only in her neck but in every other part of her body as well. Sure the house is looking great but we are tired and deserve a break. If we go on strike She will figure out just how important we are. Esspecially when she finds herself unable to move, not that she is moving all that well right now with us protesting. We have even been talking to the bodies of all the taggards and Rowes that came to help this weekend too and have found out that they are perfoming similar protests in their own unions too. We are making a stand! More Breaks and Less Paint! If only she would listen.

Respectfully,

Desiree's body

My six year old Shocked me

So we were on our way home from West little rock after we went to go look at a couch we found on craiglist (new addiction) and Beau was in the back seat looking at the lights and bilboards. Well, mike and I were talking when we hear Beau chuckle and say
B-thats funny get it mom?
Me- Get what.
B- the hooters Sign. It says hooters get it?
Me- (hoping above all that is holy that he is talking about owls) Whats so funny about it?
B- Girls have hooters! The hooters is on the Girls with Hooters!
Mike- Owls say Who. Maybe thats what the sign was about.
B- Yeah, but those girls had hooters and the hoo was on the girls hooters!
Me- Lets not talk about hooters.

Remind me to blindfold my son for the next 18 years. Mike and I just looked at eachother and were in a silent shock. Beau just kept laughing.

Fav. Super bowl ads

So it is that time of year again. SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!!!!!! That day of wonderous food, sports and advertising.

Ok, so let me be honest . For me it is an evening of good food, fun advertising, Great reading time and entertainment watching Mike get all worked up over a silly ball game. Beau is still too young to really care about that game. He asked me which team was closest to arkansas and when I informed him that both teams were from the north east far far away from us he lost interest. He did tell me that he was a razerback fan and to let him know when they play.

We had so much food in my parents house yesterday. We had a cheese ball, spinich dip, veggie platter, ice box pie, sausage balls, little smokies and Mike then worked some football magic on some buffalo wings. Everything was so good but when Beau and I woke up this morning he told me that he was still full from the football game and that he did not want breakfast, I took assesment of my tummy and felt the same way.

It was fun watching the game with my man and family. Darcia and mike were on opposing sides and I could have cared less. You could say that I was on the advertising side of things. Poor mike had to listen to me complain about the football part of the game and he called me in or got my attention when it was time for the commercials. Mike very nicely listened to my theroy about how they should do away with the game and just do a commercial bowl were the contest is not about sports but about advertising. I would watch it but he told me that no one else would. Still I might market the idea around.

I had a few Good moments during the superbowl. The first one was when that girl, Jordan sparks maybe, sang the national anthem. It was so great to get to hear someone sing it straight without trying to slip and slid right into a french anthem. It was simple and beautiful. I heard it compared to the early 90's Whitney Houston Version. I hope that she proved that you can sing a song how it is written and show of a pure voice and still get great results.

My Next moments were the commercials. Here is my top ten rating. Overall I was disappointed but there were still some great ones. (By the way even though I do not drink or even condone it I still have to laugh at the bud light ads)

10. The Fire breathing Bud light man
9. The Pepsi commercial with Justin Timberlake. If only sucking on a straw would really bring him over.
8. The one with the baby hiring the clown and buying stock
7. The Pepsi max commercial were night at the roxbury's is featured.
6. The Career Builder ad telling us to follow our hearts
5. The Bridgstone commercial with Alice Cooper and Richard Simmons
4. The Fighting Parade balloons for the Coke
3. The Tide Commercial with the talking stain. Oh how true that one was.
2. The careerbuilder ad with the singing lightning bug
1. The best one was the bridgestone ad with the screaming critters

Those are my Favs. Let me know what you liked.
